VU Engineering Becomes ETH AI Center Affiliated Startup

Zurich, Switzerland — June 21, 2022 — VU Engineering, a Swiss provider of deep learning-enabled inspection platforms for manufacturing and logistics, announced today it was officially recognized as an ETH AI Center Affiliated Startup. Companies working in close collaboration with ETH professors member of the ETH AI Center and bringing cutting-edge technologies to the market can become affiliated with the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich Artificial Intelligence Center (ETH AI Center).

VU Engineering develops Autonomous Visual Inspection Systems (AVIS) for manufacturers and transportation companies across Europe and Asia. VU Engineering’s solution integrates with the work of the inspection operators and learns how to support and automate the most complex inspection processes, such as visual quality inspection of highly reflective metallic parts, plastic injection moulded parts and freight vehicles.

The ETH AI Center is a Competence Center from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH Zurich). It regroups more than 100 ETH Professors, Corporations, and Startups to lead the way towards trustworthy, accessible, and inclusive AI systems for the benefit of society. It is part of the European Laboratory for Learning and Intelligent Systems (ELLIS) network that aims to connect European research institutes in the Artificial Intelligence domain.
